Theater Calgary
– Jake and the Kid –

On behalf of everyone
that the Diakonos Retreat Society serves, we thank
Theater Calgary for their recent and generous support of
Our Community Heroes.
Due to popular demand for the showing of Jake and the
Kid, Theater Calgary extended the production by a week
and initiated an invitation to all Peace Officers, Fire
Fighters, Emergency Services, Military Personnel and
their families to attend a complimentary show over the
course of three evenings.
Diakonos Retreat Society has been hoping for some time
now to be able to partner with a local
group/sponsor/event with an activity that was cost
effective, fun and unique for all ages and audience that
Diakonos serves.
The show Jake and the Kid was outstanding and fit right
in with the theme of what defines Community Heroes!
Diakonos Retreat Society was able to receive just over
$1300 in donations over the course of the 3 evenings and
were able to speak to about 60% of the Diakonos people
attending for the first time about who we are and the
resources available to them and their families.
